Vision
I aspire to be an educator who fosters not only procedural knowledge but also essential 21st-century dispositions such as creativity, problem-solving, innovation, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, reflective thinking, and personal and social responsibility. I believe students learn best when they are given opportunities to explore, create, and connect learning to real-world issues that matter to them. My goal is to create a classroom environment that nurtures curiosity, encourages risk-taking, and empowers students to pursue their passions through deep, lifelong learning.
Building on the foundation laid through the Graduate Diploma in Education (Exploring Making: Art, Design, and Technology in Education), I envision my practice as one that supports equity, engagement, and agency—particularly through the integration of making, art, design, and technology. I hope to lead in the field by promoting innovative pedagogical approaches that leverage tools such as formative assessment and technology to support meaningful learning in the Applied Design, Skills, and Technology (ADST) curriculum.
Through the Master of Education in Educational Practice program at Simon Fraser University, I aim to deepen my ability to create caring, socially responsible, and inclusive learning environments where students are seen as capable co-designers of their own learning. Ultimately, I want to contribute to an education system that inspires thoughtful, engaged, and empowered learners who are prepared to navigate and shape an ever-evolving world.
